Your Goals, Our Mission
Moa Fitness is a place where people come together to achieve their fitness goals. With small group classes and personal training, members are able to receive personalized attention and support from experienced trainers who are passionate about helping them succeed.
Our group classes are designed to provide a fun and supportive environment. These sessions are led by knowledgeable trainers who are able to modify exercises to meet the needs of each individual in the group. Members are able to build relationships with each other and create a sense of camaraderie that helps to keep them motivated and accountable. For those who prefer a more one-on-one approach, the gym also offers personal training. This allows members to work with a trainer who can create a customized workout plan that is tailored to their specific goals and needs.
Whether you are looking to lose weight, build muscle, or simply improve your overall health and wellness, this gym has everything you need!

In 2015, a friend invited me to try a CrossFit workout. The workout was simple movements that turned out to be one of the toughest workouts I’d ever done. I never felt so exhilarated. It couldn’t have come at a better time – I was just finishing high school athletics and looking for something to take its place. What stood out to me was the tight-knit community and support system that helped everyone push through this demanding workout. I spent the next couple of years telling all my friends and family about this type of training. I even convinced my mom to come in and give it a try. She hesitated, because she thought it would be too hard for her. One of our coaches, Daniel Guiney, took her under his wing. She soon became a regular, and her hour at MOA became her favorite part of her day. What Coach Daniel did for my mom encouraged me to step outside my own training and start coaching others. I became a full-time coach at MOA Fitness and couldn’t love it more. Coming in to work every day and helping people from different walks of life and different training backgrounds achieve their goals is so rewarding. MOA Fitness really is a place for everyone!

I found CrossFit in 2016 and was inspired by the simple yet comprehensive training methodology. CrossFit teaches people of all ages how to perform better in life using weightlifting, gymnastics, and an emphasis on work capacity. Being exposed to these ideas helped me grow physically as an athlete and mentally as a person. I plan to always chase my own athletic greatness, but my path now also includes helping others understand what it takes to be fit. I think it’s important that people see the unrealistic parameters society puts on their health. I believe that most of the problems in this world revolve around one issue – sickness. Either sickness of the mind, the heart, the soul, or the body, and each one is connected. My goal is to become an instrument to help heal the people of this planet!

I found MOA at a time in my life when I needed change and was looking to maximize my personal fitness. To me, CrossFit has the best workout methodology to achieve the highest form of fitness without specializing into a sport. The movements trained in these workouts can be directly applied to everyday life. MOA Fitness is so much more than a functional fitness gym. It’s a family of members and coaches here to encourage and challenge you to be better in all aspects of your life. When you step into MOA, you experience the satisfaction of working hard alongside others striving for the same goal: to become better people. Over time, you’ll see how rewarding hard work, commitment, and perseverance are for both your physical and mental health. As a coach I want to show people how to achieve goals they thought were impossible, and to help them discover new super powers. I like building clients into confident, strong, and mentally tough individuals who are prepared to take on anything that life throws at them!

I am native to north county San Diego and played sports my entire life but never paid attention to any extra physical training. After high school I started weight training at a typical big box gym and got really into running, peaking at a half marathon. In 2018, I followed a good friend to a boot camp gym, including a 60-day challenge. I followed a meal plan for the first time ever, did more conditioning than I ever have before, got in the best shape of my life, and most importantly had an amazing experience with an actual gym COMMUNITY, making friends who have made a major impact on my life. I had the opportunity to intern as a boot camp coach and started coaching classes soon after. I grew to really enjoy helping people learn about functional movements, healthy eating, and most of all, seeing people’s confidence grow as they hit milestones and new fitness goals. During the pandemic I started training Olympic weightlifting in a friend’s garage and felt confident enough to finally join MOA (my first CrossFit gym) in 2022. I received my CrossFit L1 cert shortly after and have enjoyed assisting members progress and push their limits.

In 2018, with the big 4-0 quickly approaching, I knew I needed something more from my workouts. I’d reached a plateau in my fitness journey, and quite frankly, I’d been living in a fitness comfort zone for years. I heard about CrossFit from a friend who was a little older than me, and he looked great! So, I decided I’d give it a shot. My life has never been the same. When I moved to San Marcos from Denver, Colorado in late 2021 I only knew one person. Then I found MOA. My wife and I have met so many amazing people here at MOA that we are happy to call friends. After a year of getting in the best shape of my life, I started coaching in 2022. It is SO rewarding to help people of all walks of life reach fitness levels they never thought possible!
